My Soul To Take
Rachel Vincent
220 pages
Kaylee is just a normal girl. She has just caught the attention of the cutest guy in school. She sneaks out of her house with her best friend. She can predict who is going to die. Kaylee is a banshee, an inhuman creature who can tell who is going to die and gets the extreme urge to scream as loud as she can. When teenage girls around her area start to literally drop dead with no explanation, Kaylee must find out who is killing these girls-and stop them.
I LOVED this book. The characters are relatable, which I like, yet it had a supernatural twist so the novel wasn't just filled with boring teen girl drama. I loved the kindness of Nash, mostly because the popular boys in books are usually jerks. However Nash was so kind to Kaylee even after just meeting her, which was a pleasant surprise. I can't explain my favourite part of the book without giving away the ending, but my favourite character, although minor, would have to be Emma. She reminded me a lot of me and my friends, and she was really loyal to Kaylee which I liked.
If I was to change one part of the book, I would make the ending a bigger cliffhanger. It ended in a part where there wasn't as much anticipation as others where the author could have left off.
I would rate this book 4/5 stars. It was a really fun book, but I am not sure if I will continue the series. This is because the ending wasn't as dramatic as I would have hoped. I may continue the series, but not anytime soon.
